Medical marijuana received a lot of attention a few years ago when parents said that a special form of the drug helped control seizuresin their children.
The product is usually smoked as a cigarette, but can also be placed in a liquid that’s injected into the nasal cavity.
But the product that was making headlines had very different side effects.

At the time, a leading medical research scientist said: “It doesn’t have to do with marijuana at all, but a chemical compound called cannabidiol which is found in cannabis.
“This is the only compound in cannabis that has been studied so far that has a proven effect in controlling seizures. If you are interested in giving marijuana a try, you can find feminized seeds here.

Today, cannabidiol (CBD) has been linked to a number of benefits.
According to the American Epilepsy Society, cannabidiol does not actually get you high.
It’s not a psychoactive drug, but it may have side effects in rare instances, but those aren’tvery serious.
If CBD helps manage seizures, why would you stop taking marijuana?
In fact, that could make a seizure worse. According to a British study, if medical marijuana users stopped smoking the drug, their seizures worsened in 12 weeks, compared with people who continued smoking. It is possible that when marijuana users stop smoking their brain signals stop working correctly and they may then have more seizures. It doesn’t matter how many studies are performed on the safety and effectiveness of marijuana – people keep using it anyway, and there is no real evidence to support or refute it. It is one of the most popular drugs in the United States, and the research showing marijuana has no medicinal value is actually the most recent – it was published in October 1998. That’s nearly 40 years after Dr. Richard Evans first conducted the first studies that confirmed the therapeutic potential of marijuana in people with brain tumors.

One researcher has discovered that marijuana is even more dangerous than we thought. That’s because it appears to be much more addictive. You might be surprised to hear that marijuana is actually more addictive than nicotine, cocaine and alcohol combined. That’s because marijuana is not only safer than alcohol, but more so. There are even reports of people who have died after smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol. According to one researcher, alcohol is much safer than pot. But don’t go thinking that marijuana and alcohol are alike. According to Dr. Richard Evans of the University of California, San Francisco, marijuana can cause significant health problems, and at the same time it seems to have very few negative side effects at all. Now there are plenty of things you could do to be healthier, but there are few things that make me want to puke, at least not on a consistent basis. In fact, one of my go-to cures for nausea is to just take a few extra puffs of cannabis. What more can you ask for? A dose of pure THC is about a tenth of a THC pill (about 5-10 milligrams). This is a tiny amount. But it can help reduce nausea and a ton of other symptoms including constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia, and chronic fatigue.

But what if you are worried about the effects of smoking marijuana on your lungs? Not to worry, scientists from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) just conducted a study looking at the potential effects of using an inhaler to inhale marijuana over and over again for a couple of hours every day, for a month.
