Happy 25th birthday to Shan-o. =)
Spent the night rebuilding my Eowyn fanlist, which I accidentally deleted the other night. Thanks to Moll of Greatness, the members up to #163 were saved, but I still lost about half the list. After I rebuilt the site, I used other fanlists and my site counter and tracked down.... eight members. Yes, a whole eight.
This weekend I get to put together a class presentation on the "Pre-Raphaelites' Response to the Academics," based on The Germ. *hides under desk* :'-( If anyone knows anything about my topic, the text, or even the Pre-Raphaelites in general, please leave a comment - or a paper.
I'll close with some Alyssa wisdom that I found as I was going through my saved chats and IMs. I returned to my computer one evening several months ago and was greeted with the following on my away message:
fudgebiscuit: i once met a ham who wrestled me and took my purse
fudgebiscuit: his name was hamgeorge
fudgebiscuit: I didn't like him from the moment I set eyes on him
fudgebiscuit: he was a tall, shady ham character
fudgebiscuit: smoking a cigarette and his hat was tipped at a jaunty angle
fudgebiscuit: he had a coat draped over his arm
fudgebiscuit: and he spoke with an english accent
fudgebiscuit: and as he was talking about the weather he grabbed my purse and tried to run
fudgebiscuit: >:\ evil ham
fudgebiscuit: not all hams are bad
fudgebiscuit: but most are
fudgebiscuit: they're sick of oppression
fudgebiscuit: this world just wasn't made for hamI.... couldn't agree more.

I had a great day, spent entirely in bed, curled up in a ball with a migraine, trying not to be sick. Missed class, didn't eat or drink a single thing, feeling a little weak and dead-ish now.

I thought I had seen it all in the fanfiction world, but I was wrong. So very wrong. My friends, I present to you Legolas/Ent slash.

Well, I was finally able to go to Dr. Wood's class today. It was pretty interesting, but I'm looking forward to next week, when we start LotR. Today he handed out the discussion questions for FotR. *gets excited* :-D After class, I walked to the bookstore and got the rest of my books, which was insanely expensive. I also picked up The Hours because it was on sale and I'd like to read it. On the way there, I saw Callie, a friend from college. She's married now, and seems to be enjoying school. That's all for now, I reckon.

Sundance has posted a video clip to download of the short film that Sean Astin shot on the set of LotR... starring Oscar-winning cinematographer Andrew Lesnie and two scale doubles, and featuring Peter Jackson as the bus driver (note the LotR poster on the side of the bus). And make sure you read the credits - they mention Elijah (1st assistant director lmao), Dom, Billy, Andy, and several crew members. ;-) It's greatness! :-D
Not much happened today - saw TTT #8. Since I have nothing to write, here's another example of my highschool insanity. We had an assignment in English to write a parody of Beowulf, and this was mine. This frightening composition dates back to 1997. *runs*
lol when I read that now, it sounds like Gimli, doesn't it? ;-)
The Legend of BeodwarfBellicose Beodwarf, brood-shrimp of Shortgar,
Mighty midget of Huerot, whose hardy muscles
Were tiny but terrible for rivals in reach,
Was a formidable, frightening, four-foot foe.
Charging tip-toe into tiffs, chasing giants
With terror-looks, miniscule and mad,
The pugnacious pygmy parries.
Who in his panic would not become frantic
At the dire doings of this doom-dwarf?
With swift execution, the bold lilliputian
Smacks his small ax in the knees of his nemesis.
He who hears and fears not the micro-might
Of Beodwarf, beware the belligerent backlash
Of the frenzied fiend and his four feet of fury.Posted by DeeDee @ 08:45 PM
Everyone must see the beautimous new layout at sf.net and join Moll and Lily's Yummy site. :-D
