Just got back from Austin, where I left my poor ickle computer to get well again. :'-( We also went to the Hard Rock Cafe. I had never been to one, and it was alright I guess. We saw some Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin stuff, so that was spiffy. In about two weeks we'll have to drive back to pick up the computer. Two weeks... *sniffle*

Mr. Rogers is dead. Sadness. :'-(
On Saturday, I will drive my sick and struggling ickle computer to Austin, where the technicians will turn it back into the wonderful machine I once knew and loved. It works a little, so I can get on it for short periods of time before it shuts down again. So I'm enjoying it while I have it, because after Saturday... :'-(

Our classes were canceled yesterday because of an ice storm, and we couldn't go anywhere. So Shan and I sat around and watched movies. I made her watch Dead Man Walking, then she made me watch Encino Man, then we watched Road to Perdition. RtP was very sloooow, but also quite good. Jude Law was chilling in it, and I was really impressed with the little boy. And of course, since Thomas Newman did the score, I must own it. And now, because I have nothing else to do...

....And here's the real DeeDee lol. My computer is dead. Luckily, I was able to save all my files, just in case they have to reload my hard drive. I'll still be checking my email, blogging, and (hopefully) being on aim for a little while at night on Shan's computer. Other than that, my fanlists are all closed, and I might be gone for as much as two weeks. It depends on how long the Gateway store in Austin takes to fix things. I'll miss everyone. :'-(

Finally got to see The Hours - greatness. Nicole Kidman - greatness. Ed Harris - greatness. Julianne Moore - greatness. And Simon & Garfunkel on the Grammy awards performing together for the first time in like 20 years - utter and complete greatness. They got a standing ovation, and Dustin Hoffman talked about how they defined a generation. Yes. *clings to them* It was weird to see them looking so old, but I guess that's what the decades will do to ya.

Here is the page I made with the Sean Astin story and pictures. :-D I added a few remarks and details that I had forgotten last night in my excitement and exhaustion. For those who don't have time to read it, in summary: met him, had LotR homework questions answered by him, got a picture with him, got an autograph, saw his short film, heard him say "Mr Frodo" in the Sam voice, saw his Fellowship tattoo, and came very near to death from happiness at many points.
