What an interesting day I had. Yesterday my manager asked me to come in to work this morning "for security reasons." Turns out the new guy, who's been working with me in the mornings for the last week, was being questioned by our area managers for stealing thousands of dollars in money orders. He had seen me typing in the code, and then when I was around the store doing shift duties, he just printed out tons of money orders for himself. When the manager told me about it, I was shocked, and she said, "You don't seem very mad. You do realize what he was doing, don't you?"
Me: *blank stare*
Manager: "He didn't know that I let you use my money order code. He thought it was your own personal code."
Me: *starting to realize*
Manager: "He was trying to get you blamed for it."
Me: ................................
My manager was like, "I spent all day yesterday trying to figure out why we had thousands of dollars of money order shortages, and I knew you wouldn't steal the money. So I watched the tapes, and it was James, using the code that he thought was yours." The jerk knew that I needed a new car, because we've been talking about good places to go, so he used my money order code, figuring that I'd get blamed for the money he stole. I hope they press charges against his sorry ass, pardon my French.
*breathes* In other and happier news, my dad called me. The car title has been signed, my first payment is due in July, and they're bringing it to me next weekend! Car + Family Visit = Complete DeeDee Happiness. :D

Very rough day at work, but I got a call from my dad with great car news. My parents found a car for me back home, and were able to finance it in their name, though I'll make the payments, of course. It's a little 2001 Ford Escort, with no money down, and $200 a month. And along with that good news, my parents and my brother are going to drive over to Texas to get it to me, sometime in the next week or two. I'm so happy, and I can't wait to see them! *dances joyfully*

I had a pretty ordinary, but nice, day. I worked 8-2, and it was one of those great days when business is slow and time still goes by fast. I also bought a $2 lottery ticket for fun, and won $20 on it. That was cool. :D After work, Shan and I went swimming for about an hour and a half. The sun was really bright and it's like 100 degrees outside, so I'm all brown now, with little tinges of pink on my cheeks. Last night we saw Gangs of New York at the dollar theater, and I really liked it. The music was greatness, and so were Daniel Day Lewis and Leonardo Dicaprio. We're about to go get some Chinese, so off I go. Mmmm, egg drop soup. Haven't had that in ages!
