Well, Mr. Poop, in clever Blog Police disguise, told me to blog -- and who am I to disobey Mr. Poop? Now to think of something to blog. *thinks* Alyssa has a new Miranda layout of much greatness.

I read the new Viggo article in Premiere today, and I would just like to say that I love and adore Viggo. One day they had a snowstorm or something on set, and all the actors were moved from the location. But Viggo got in a vehicle by himself and drove back in the storm to pick up the scale doubles, so they wouldn't get snowed in and have to stay there. Awww Viggo! *adores him*

On second viewing of TTT, I just want to say that Andy Serkis is an amazing genius who needs an Oscar. Yeah, and those other guys - Viggo and Elijah - they need nominations too. But then, they've only been brilliant character actors for a decade (or two) and have never received nominations, so why start now? Oscar noms should go to exciting newcomers like Eminem.

Orli with long hair (yes, even cute, curly 1998 hair) is too devastatingly rar to be legal. Good thing he always hides it under that atrocious yellow 3M hat.

Completely random note: Led Zeppelin's song "The Battle of Evermore," about Helm's Deep, is a song of much, much greatness.

Completely random note #2: My favorite part of TTT is when Gandalf charges down the hill with the Rohirrim, and the sunlight, and the music... *dies*

Completely random note #3: Notes one and two weren't actually random, since they related to one of the main topics of this blog post. Incidentally, this note is also not random, because it serves the logical purpose of explaining notes one and two.

Completely random note #4: I hope my fish doesn't die while I'm away.

I... really need to go to bed.

Now that I'm coherent, here are a few specific little things that pleased or bothered me especially:

- The dead marshes were quite spiffy.

- I loved Aragorn's reaction when he thought the hobbits were dead. Aragorn hardly ever allows himself to show emotion that strongly, and it was nice.

- Um... why was a Gandalf line given to Wormtongue, of all people? Gandalf's sad speech to Eomer and Aragorn about Eowyn in the houses of healing was twisted and given to... *chokes* Wormtongue! I was horrified.

- Both Legolas and Gimli were given more personality, and that was great.

- Eomer should've been at Helm's Deep.

- I hated when Aragorn said at Helm's Deep "Show them no mercy." In the book, he actually goes onto the battlements and offers to let the enemies go home unhurt. That just wasn't a very Aragorn thing to say. :-/

- Why did they make such a big deal about Arwen being alone and deserted at Aragorn's death? In the book, she has a son and daughters, whom she chooses to leave so she can die alone in Lothlorien. It's her own stupid choice.

- I loved when the Ent was on fire, and saved itself in the water. Everyone in our theater was cheering for it lol.

asdlkjo ijre alj oijsf Oh. My. Gooooooooosh!! *falls over and dies*

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

*takes breath*

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

So much greatness. So very, very, very much greatness.

Aragorn - Yes. Yesyesyesyesyes. So perfect. When he bowed to Theoden, that was greatness beyond anything in the world, and such a very... Aragorn thing to do. He smiled more in this movie, and that made me happy. The books always mention Aragorn smiling, and he only smiles like twice in FotR. So I say to Aragorn: "Rar!"

Eowyn - Started off as greatness, then she kind of disappeared for almost an hour. I was kind of disappointed, especially that they cut out that panorama shot of Edoras with her standing on the terrace. That was one of the most beautiful and iconic shots of the film from trailers and stills, and they left it out. :-/ But then, Eowyn only has a few sentences in the book, so I should be grateful for all the amazing stuff they added for her.

Legolas - Holy @#$%. Definitely the most improved character. There was smiling. There was humor ("You're late.... you look terrible."). There were complete sentences. There were complete sentences spoken in Elvish. There was horse trickery and shield-surfing. There was a touch of Angst. There was just all-around, amazing, kick-ass, sexy greatness.

Gimli - rotflmao. "Don't tell the Elf."

Eomer - I. Love. Eomer. I was disappointed that they cut out so much stuff that he does in the book, like when he's released from prison in Edoras, and he bows to Theoden and gives him his sword. Instead of staying in Rohan against Theoden's orders and still trying to save the land, Eomer just... leaves. And he's supposed to fight with Aragorn at Helm's Deep. The whole idea of a strong bond between Aragorn and Eomer is gone. They gave Theoden one of Eomer's best lines - "Now is the time when we draw swords together." But I loved how he shows up at the end with Gandalf like a hero. That was quite spiffy.

Gollum - Great beyond anything I can ramble here. He's always been one of my favorite characters in the book, and they did him so well. Andy Serkis is amazing. I loved the interaction between Gollum, Frodo, and Sam - how Frodo identifies with him and treats him with kindness, and Sam is mean. When Frodo calls him "Smeagol" and Gollum sort of whispers, "My name!" that was powerful. Just like in the book, and so perfect. It really shows how well-done Gollum was, that no one in our audience laughed when he debated with himself. That could have been so stupid and laughable, and instead it's pitiful and disturbing. Just... wow.

Sam - Greatness. And did I mention greatness?

Faramir - Why? Why, I ask you? Completely ruined. Utterly and totally ruined. Sending the ring to Denethor? When he said that, my mouth just fell open. I couldn't believe the wrongness. It's even more sad because David is perfect for the part, and Faramir could've been amazingly great. Instead, he's just wrong. Sexy.... but wrong.

Treebeard - Yes!! Did anyone else think that his voice sounded exactly like the Rock-biter in Neverending Story?

Theoden - Amazing. Eeeek, he was so good. I was thrilled that they kept his great line to Aragorn from the book, about how he's king of Rohan, not Aragorn. lmao that was great.

Arwen - Gah. At least the additions were all in-character, so I wasn't too bothered. Yikes but that scene where Aragorn dies and fades into that statue of Elessar with the sword, and she's standing there with her veil blowing in the wind... I can't deny that was a beautiful scene. But Arwen still sucks and must die.

Gandalf - This was the only character who wasn't as good as in FotR. I dunno why, but he left me cold.

Misc rambling... I kept thinking of Angst! So many times, especially when Aragorn returned the Evenstar to Arwen, and it kept passing hands. That was exactly like Angst. And I guess just the increased Legolas stuff and the Rangers of the South. Aaaaangst! I must read it again!

I did not like the elves at Helm's Deep. Men won that battle alone - the whole War of the Ring in fact - and that was important. But speaking of elves, it was really spiffy how Galadriel does that narration about the darkness spreading.

Overall - eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I was so proud of myself - I remained seated and quiet for the entire length of the movie. I cannot, however, answer for my behavior in the car just before and just after the movie. *angel smile*

I can't wait to see it again! In just a few hours, in fact. And then I'll have to see it on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Wednesday I drive back to school, but there's still Wednesday night. We'll have to see. *jumps around hyperly*

Good afternoon, everyone. And what a nice day this is! The time is currently.... gaaaah!!!!! Just a few more hours. I can do this. IcandothisIcandothisIcandothis! asdlfkjasdlfk Must wait. Can wait. Yes, Precious, we can wait. Eeeeeeeeeeek!!! *clings to everyone reading* Eeeeek!! *falls out of chair and hits pole like Garth in Wayne's World* So very hyper and excited. Must remain calm. Must relax and simply wait a few more hours. That's all. Just a few more hours before Aragornness and A/E-ness of greatness, and Legolas, and thinking of Angst, and hating PJ for adding so much stupid Arwen and leaving out Nilram and Rian, and wishing I could see it with Alyssa and blueby and mollness and cho-ee and various other people who live around the world that I got to meet because of LotR, and wondering how much money I have to see this movie every day for the next month. Eeeeeeek!!!!

Well, five Mountain Dews, a bag of popcorn, two packs of Twizzlers, a Mcdonalds bagel, and a bag of (quite necessary) cashews later, here I am. When I was near home, blue called me and learned that there is a town called Chunky, Mississippi, and that some guy in an old red pick-up has a license plate that says 'HOO HOO.' Home is wonderful, but AOL and dial-up are evil whores that need to die in a slow and painful way.

*dances* I'm leaving for home in less than three hours! :-D

.......Yikes. From what I can piece together from evidence, I fell asleep at my computer sometime between 5 and 6 am, woke up enough to set my alarm for 10 pm instead of 10 am, and went to bed. And Shannon just now woke me up at 1 pm. I have no idea... eeeek. Thank goodness I only work 3-9 today.

Today was a very important day in the Life of DeeDee. I got to... *raises kleenex* I got to talk to Phil. Yes, THE Phil. I was in the stockroom at work, wrestling the ladder over to get some more coffee cups and waiting for Alyssa's dad to get her, and lo, there was Phil's voice:

Phil: "Hello?"
Me: (thinking Alyssa's voice sounded odd) "Hi! This is DeeDee."
Phil: "Who?"
Me: (thinking Alyssa had gone crazy) "DeeDee?"
Phil: "Oh... she's asleep right now."
Me: "Are you Phil?"
Phil: "Yeah."
Me: "Well hey! Okay, I'll just call her back later."
Phil: "Okay. Bye."

I... it was quite simply overwhelming. Phil is my hero. :'-(

Aww and Lily sent me a TTT Day sign that made me all excited! Visit Cassady, for she is spiffy and pastes amazing e e cummings passages into my comments. :-D

When I called blue from work, I woke her up from a nap, when she was supposed to be wrapping presents. Naughty! And... now, four hours later, she is still evidently asleep. *pokes her*

I shall close with the wisdomly words of Alyssa: "bingo is about pure human emotion. rage, and lust, and putting chips on little squares!"

I miss A/E, but... this is nice to look at. *stares* I would also like to state, for the record, that e e cummings is the greatest poet who ever lived. Thank you. It's not every evening you chat with a friend and realize that both of you know a mysterious person named Kyle, who may or may not have a decided gender. That kind of knowledge - that kind of connection - is what seals lasting bonds, my friends. I now have an Androgynous Kyle Buddy.
