Eowyn, by Alyssa!

saturday, april 27

Alyssa sent me a great link to a bunch of LotR quotes and stories, many of which I had never read before, such as Viggo sending his son to wrap duct tape around Orlando Bloom's trailer. Great stuff, man, great stuff. I love these guys.

Eureka! I have finally made a layout that I really like, and that I intend to keep for more than a few days. LOL.

My 13-year-old sister Emma is very upset right now because her best friend was rushed to the hospital with an aneurism, and will have to have brain surgery. The doctors cannot guarantee yet that she will live. Of all my little sister's friends, Tabitha is the one I like the most. She's a smart girl, and very very sweet. So everyone be thinking (and/or praying) about her. *hugs Emma and Tabitha*

Musings of Viggo just posted the cuuuuuuutest pictures of Viggo in his highschool yearbook, where he's only 14 or 15. He's in a picture of homeroom presidents (LOL!), swim team, and art club (awwww). Seriously, how CUTE is that? Art club? *ahem* Sorry, guys, sometimes my Viggo adoration gets a little out of hand. I am starting to appreciate Orlando Bloom and Billy Boyd more and more, though, I have to admit. Orlando first won my heart in that little Japanese press conference video where he was asked which LotR character he wanted to be, and he said, "Viggo. Not Aragorn, Viggo." It was precioussssss. And Billy. The Accent. The Accent!! *ahem again* Conan just did a parody of Unsolved Mysteries with him and Max, narrated by the real show's host. It was hilarious.

All charges against Alyssa have been dropped. Go look at her blog! And go look at blue's new blog layout too! It's twinkly stars! And Clare invited me to the Fellowship blog! Awww!! I can't believe that next week is our last week of class. In a way that's a good thing because I'm sick of school. But it also means that I sorta kinda need to start my papers. And as anyone who has visited my site before knows, the index page is changed for the gazillionth time. I decided to take a little break from LotR and pay homage to the happiest five weeks of my life -- the WCC gang's trip to Israel in summer 2000.

One more class, then done till Tuesday... and the 2-Papers-Countdown is now 12 days. hmm.... should begin soon. *makes note of that*

wednesday, april 24

Class was allright today. We discussed Walker Percy's Lancelot, which is rather pervy to say the least. We were discussing a particularly explicit scene about lust and Dr. Wood said, "DeeDee should be able to give us more enlightenment on this paragraph." I was like "What??!!" Everyone was laughing. I know I must have been beet-red. He was referring to an allusion to Dante's Inferno in the paragraph, and said, "DeeDee's in my other class. DeeDee, what do you make of this whirlwind in the paragraph?" So then I explained about the lustful people in the Inferno, and how their punishment was to be in an eternal whirlwind to symbolize how they couldn't control themselves in life. But for a minute there, I was sooooo embarassed!! I would like to retract my statement about Alyssa being an Ultimate Traitor. She is only a Semi-Traitor now, because she's going to make her blog an Eowyn layout. =)

tuesday, april 23

This evening was HORRIBLE. I rode with Jennifer since my lovely car is broken again. We got there right on time at 6. The first half hour was fine; Jennifer and I hung out and talked to a few other people. We got our supper, and I sat down at a nearby table. Well. The wives of three of the guys in my class sat with me, bringing along their cute babies and kids. Great for 5-10 minutes. But they spent the next hour talking only about breastfeeding, when their kids got their teeth, and how far along one woman was in her pregnancy. Result: DeeDee is not only bored to tears, but feels like a complete and total LOSER of the first degree. Conan comes on in ten minutes. Maybe that'll help.
11:18 PM |

Hmmm, well I'm done with class for the day, thank goodness. Tuesday is really the worst day of the week. I'm about to leave to go to Dr. Wood's house, because our 20th Cent. Catholic Novel class is meeting there tonight to eat hamburgers and watch a movie based on a Flannery O'Connor novel. I'd really rather stay here. Hmmm. Well, only two more classes (one on Weds., one on Thurs.) and this foul week will be over. The downside to that is that I will also be one week closer to my papers, and to when my rent is due. *searches for wormhole to jump into and escape the world*

The happy news of the day: Madhuri's wonderful creation Mistletoe is up, and I'm honored to host it because Michelle is awesome! In other news, Alyssa the Ultimate Traitor is about to put up a new layout of Arwen. I happen to know that Alyssa dislikes Arwen, which makes said layout all the more tragic. I'm sure it will be beautiful as all her designs are, but.... but.... she knows her sin. Grrrrr. Shannon changed her blog layout to Care Bears! "Forest of Feelings, Care-a-lot, and earth aren't far apart...." My desktop:

monday, april 22

Well, Shannon and I had a lot of fun last night. At around 10:30, someone came to our door and was ringing the doorbell, knocking, and jiggling the knob. They left, and we were all relieved. So then the person comes back a few minutes later and does it again. DeeDee was not a happy camper. There's no way they could have gotten in here because we have two deadbolts, but still. It was not fun. Cassie came over and stayed for a little while. Random Note: I want to go home!! As for the roundrobin, it proceeds steadily on, angst ever building. And we love it. ;-)

sunday, april 21

Shannon and I went swimming for about 15 minutes, then had to leave because of bad weather. But it was a fun 15 minutes! I got back to my computer to find that the "DeeDee is Evil" chatroom had been almost abandoned, and that I have to wait for everyone to sign on again later tonight. *sniff* Maybe I should work on my papers... nah, the roundrobin. Last night I chatted with Madhuri, Jamie, and Manu from Sugarquill. They CRAX me up. Note to Madhuri: keep reading! ;-)
