Just joined a spiffy fanlist for favorite authors, and I chose Jane Austen, of course.

Ugh, my stomach hurts and I'm homesick. The second thing way worse than the first thing.

Woooooo, HAPPINESS! I might be saved from the cowboy boots! Hastings bookstore just called me and asked me to come in for an interview Sunday afternoon! Books and music and movies... all day! Glorious!! *sigh*

Just added a pointless tagboard over to the right. Clare showed me a great site where I could get one. Feel free to abuse it, all you Viggos and Professor Greens out there. ;-)

Ah, the glory of pointless quizzes.

"Which composer are you?"

what's your battle cry?

You are the good ol' thumb! You are the family one, the one who not necessarily everyone loves but the one who everyone can't live without. Always willing to lend a hand or comfort a friend when they need it.
Which finger are you?

My wonderful, lovely brother sent me $20. He's as broke as I am, so that was realllly sweet. *hugs Bobby*

Just got back from my interview at Boot City. Yes, that's the real name. It was less of an interview than him talking to me about Opryland, Nascar racing, Vicksburg tourism, and Shakespeare. He liked that I was a literature major, and he said he was going to give me a little test, so I got kind of nervous. Then he started quoting the prologue of Canterbury Tales in Old English, and when I identified it, he looked impressed and I was relieved. He needs someone to work 40 hours a week, which is absolutely great for me, I need the money. He said he'd call me in the next day or two, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Oh yeah, and erm.... I have to dress western! I have to wear cowboy boots! Eeeeek!!! Ah well. It'll be something to laugh at later, just like the gas station stories I'll always cherish. lmao! And of course, I got to see that great "EVERGREEN: Rivendell Trading Post" sign again. Wooo! Now I'm off to watch Oceans 11 with Shannon.
2:57 PM |

My interview is at 1:30. Wooo, I love cowboy boots!! (not.) Alyssa just cracked me up by referring to Arwen as the Al Gore of Middle-earth because she never has any emotions. lmao!
11:48 AM |

Well. The cowboy boot store called and left me a message -- they want me to call them today and set up an interview! lmao! I knew that Evergreen/Rivendell sign was a . . . erm . . . sign. Heh.

take shannon and choi's sadistic death quiz now!

Okay, I'm in a very stupid, giddy mood right now. Very hyper. Beware. Shannon and I drove around today so I could fill out job applications. Well. I did an application at a store for cowboy boots, which is funny in itself, but as I was filling out the app, I glanced up, and right overhead was a huge green sign that said "EVERGREEN: Rivendell Trading Post." So as anyone who knows about LotR and/or Professor Green can assume, I DIED laughing. So then we went to a gas station that had a "now hiring" sign, since I have a long and distinguished career in that field. I filled out the app, and the manager was there. He looked at my app and said, "You worked at a gas station for two years?" Then he asked me if I could work the 3-11 shift, which I said "yes" to excitedly, since that's a perfect time for me. I can stay up all night and sleep in the morning. He said the criminal check should be back in 5 days, and then he'd call me. Ah well, I hope they don't see that drug dealing on my record. Apart from that, I think I have a job. Woooooooo! *does happy hyper dance*

Our round robin, which is now unofficially named Angst, I believe, has completely affected my view of LotR and the characters. Whenever I read passages from the books or watch the TTT trailer (which I do more often than I care to admit...), I wonder where Nilram and Rian are. Their characters are just as real to me as Aragorn, Gandalf, and Frodo. Rian is so perfect for Aragorn, I have to remind myself that his true match in the book is Eowyn. (I know, I know, he marries Arwen. But his match is Eowyn.) Whenever I read about Eomer in the books, I just think, Awww! And I can never look at Legolas the same way again. Even when I was watching one of those awful love scenes in Star Wars, one of them made me think of Legolas and Nilram from the days of pages one and two. ;-) So here's to Angst. Tolkien would be horrified, but then again, this is the guy who crossed out his plans to marry Aragorn to Eowyn. I think blue, Alyssa, and I know what we're doing. Except for that whole inventing a language thing. We haven't done that. Yet.

Ah, the warm fuzzy feeling of a Shakespearean insult! Thou spleeny weak-hinged rampallion!

Go to Clare's blog to read about her freaky dream about Ozzy Osbourne, eyeballs, and swimming cows administering lethal injections!

In other news, where on earth is Professor Green?

Geez! I'm tired of feeling sick and sad!!

SNL was great last night. They did one last Celebrity Jeopardy, and the real Alex Trebek came on! And we got to see Neil Diamond and Gay Hitler one last time on Weekend Update. Farewell, Will Ferrell!
