Work was greeeaaat. The gas station is so clean and nice, and the people I work with are very nice and funny. The manager went across the street and bought us breakfast at McDonalds, and the girl I worked with bought me a rootbeer! awww! So anyway. Had a good experience, much better than expected. =) And even better, Oscar and Lucinda, my favorite movie of all time, is on tv right now.Oh, I should also add, for the benefit of those who like to make fun of my midget-ness:
The cash registers are those kind where you touch the screen. I was having a hard time at first because I couldn't press the buttons, and eventually the manager figured out what the problem was: my fingers were too small, and the sensors weren't picking them up. So I had to sort of use the side of my finger all day. lmao. At the other place I worked, it was an older cash register with buttons, and I rang people up like lightning. This one slows me down. Stupid small fingers. And then a guy came in around lunchtime, and just before he left, he said, "Would you do me a favor?" I said, "Umm, sure." He held up his hand. "Could you hold your hand up to mine?" I did, and my fingers didn't even go past his palm. Oh the funness.

I went to my first day at the gas station, which wasn't exactly a work day. I got there at 1:00 and spent three hours taking a tedious computer test about selling tobacco and alcohol. lmao! But the great thing is that I get clocked eight hours for it. I work Sat, Sun, and Mon from 7-3 for training, and then I believe I'll be on the night shift from 3-11 for my regular schedule. The bookstore said they'd call me today or tomorrow, so... we'll see. I don't really mind this gas station thing as much though. I worked at one for two years, and I can do it again. It's an easy job in a small place, and the people seem cool and friendly. I won't be working alone like I was at the other one. =) In other news, the MTV movie awards were hilaaaarious! The LotR parody... I was wiping tears off my cheeks because I was laughing so hard. "It is a gift!" rotflmao! PJ and the four hobbits accepting their award was sooo sweet and cute, and Orlando Bloom... adorable. I'm glad I taped it.

The MTV special starts in about 20 minutes! I'm also excited because my fanlists for Merry, Faramir, Eomer, and Luthien were made official by the Fanlistings this afternoon. I didn't enter Eowyn, since mine wasn't the first -- that would be Tara's Steel Lily, the original site for Eowyn goodness! Anyway, *dances around* I can almost forget the fact that my rent was due yesterday. Erm...

Yayhoooo! MTV is gonna show a half-hour special on LotR right before the movie awards! And my Eowyn fanlist now has 50 members! And the Alternate Thread for the story is fun and sweet! *dances around happily*

TORN just posted a link to a guy who has an early script from TTT, and some of these things are, shall I say, enraging? *ahem* Don't read my ranting if you don't want movie spoilers. And may I just say that "spoil" is a good word? Arwen leaves Rivendell with her father (taking Aragorn's sword with her), and she looks into Galadriel's mirror. Don't ask me. I don't know either. She sees things from her past with Aragorn, and she sees Aragorn dying at Helm's Deep. Again, don't ask. Because I certainly don't know. She convinces the Lorien elves, led by Haldir, to go to their aid at HD. She stays behind, thank goodness. But in the book, there were no elves at HD except for Legolas! And the movie's Arwen will be basically responsible for saving HD. And Haldir... dies?! Another thing that makes me upset -- it says that Aragorn will take command of the elves and the Rohirrim. Aragorn never ever ever encroaches on Theoden's authority over the Rohirrim. Ever! Ever! And.... how can I watch my Aragorn being killed by uruk-hai, vision or not? *cries* I can't believe this. The only thing out of that whole thing that made me happy is that apparently TTT will show Aragorn leaving for the Paths of the Dead, instead of RotK. Which means I don't have to wait till 2003 to see my beloved Aragorn/Eowyn goodness and angst. Still though... whyyy? I hate Arwen.

I'm leaving for the bookstore interview in a little over an hour. I'm so excited! Also, blue added a new thread to the round-robin board, where we can post alternate scenes or bits of silliness. I have a feeling we'll be spending more time there than we will on the story, which has reached the Paths of the Dead finally. And erm... I just got an email that instructed active members of the LotR Logs webring to post this, so here goes: "I'm a member of LOTR Logs and I obeyed the rules."

I hate phones. I am feart of phones. But just now I called both blue and Alyssa. I actually had a reason for calling blue, because we needed to know something for the story, and her brother was hogging the computer as usual. And I called Alyssa simply because I was in a stupid mood. We were saying on IM that we both just say "um.... yeah... so..." on the phone, so being the goober that I am, I of course called her. Our conversation went something like this:Alyssa: Hello?
Me: Hey.
Alyssa: Hey.
Me: Do you want to say um now?
Alyssa: Um....
Me: Um... let's hang up now!
Alyssa: Okay.lmao. It was fun. *silly grin* And right before I called Alyssa, the bookstore asked me to come by tomorrow afternoon at 4:10 for a second interview. Joyfulness! *looks forward to possibly kicking gas station job to the curb* Y'all go visit my new affiliate, Allie!

LotR, the way it really happened. :-D Warm fuzzy feelings of Aragorn/Rian goodness!I am feart for my life because I need to add a post to the story before blue gets back around 7, and my brain has turned into a big puddle of mush for various reasons. Where on earth is Professor Green now? First it was a vacation, then a questionable fencing accident in which he broke his leg, and now his period of absence has reached 9 days. In a very closely related story, blue is mean. ;__; *obm* Especially considering that her tagboard has been frequented quite often in the last 24 hours by Orlando Bloom. *sniff* I think she could find it within her heart to make the Professor come back to work. *sniff* Vanilla Coke is marvelous. That pointless statement was an unpaid (unfortunately) but true advertisement for the Coca-Cola corporation.

Life is so complicated! lol. It looks like I'm going to get the bookstore job after all. We'll see. After hours searching the net over the past week for a picture of my idea of Rian, I found her yesterday by pure serendipity. Dontcha love it? I put in my Braveheart dvd for no particular reason, and there she was! I squealed. Yes, I actually squealed. Luckily, I was home alone at the time.

After signing a contract at a gas station this morning, I received a call from the bookstore where I wanted to work. They asked if they could hire me tomorrow. So yeah. Just went for my daily visit to Musings of Viggo, and Jaimie had added the cutest animated gifs donated by the webmistress at Full Bloom. These two especially made me grin like an idiot, so I uploaded them to my server for the purpose of sharing them in my blog. May I just say that I love the LotR guys? Finally changed my layout again. For a while there, I was changing it every other day, but Eowyn stayed for a well-deserved month-and-a-half. Now it's Aragorn (rar), with just a hint of Eowyn on the left. I couldn't resist. ;-)

I just read at IMDB that Liv Tyler had trouble with the Elvish and couldn't remember her lines, so they had to keep reshooting scenes, and doing some in bits and pieces so she could do one line at a time. Don't ask me why, but it made my night in a twisted kind of way. Okay, I'll go ahead and tell you why. I hate Arwen with a passion. And I'm not too fond of Liv either. Poor Viggo learned the language and can still speak it, and his dumb co-star couldn't say her lines. Grrrr. Christmas, Eowyn, Faramir, and Eomer are too far away.
