Ugh day at work, but I get to sit around here all day tomorrow! Wooooo!! Shannon stopped by to bring me some supper, and since it was a slow afternoon, we got a little bored. So she started re-enacting LotR with convenience store objects.THE CAST:

Last night she won the middleweight boxing something-or-other and became the world champion, and there she was buying coke and gas. She was on the front page of the sports section, and it would have been spiffy to get her autograph, but since I didn't know her, ah well, I missed my chance.

*ahem* My Day From Hell, by DeeDee.I showed up to work at noon, in a relatively bright and cheerful mood. My boss was running the other register because someone called in sick. He's very nice, and we talked about kitty-cats. At 3:00, he came from the office looking grim, and said, "DeeDee, I need you to go to another store and work alone till someone gets there at 10 tonight." Basically, their employees all ditched their job today, and they needed someone desperately. So, he gave me an exit name and sent me on my way. Let's just say that the 10-minute drive took me 45 minutes because there was construction on the interstate, the exit signs were down, and I got hopelessly lost. I even stopped at two other gas stations in our chain to ask if they were the ones I was supposed to be at. Finally, I arrived and got on the register. I actually liked this station -- it was quiet and a little slow. But best of all, the counter was at my waist instead of my chest, and it was soooo much easier to run the register. But the hours started wearing on me, and my feetsies started hurting really bad. Then at 9:30, a guy called and said that he was supposed to come in at 10, but couldn't. So they called some other guy, who finally showed up at 10:30. I am very tired and very grumpy, even more so because tomorrow I have to work another 10-hour day, and it's going to be HELL because no one won the lottery Wednesday, and it's now 70 million. We're going to be running around like fools tomorrow night. Anyway, wow, this is a long rambling post. If anyone made it, congratulations!! =) On a happy note, I talked on the phone to Shannon, Alyssa, and blueby! =)
Story 1: A woman reached into her pocket and was counting change, when she suddenly exclaimed, "There's my fingernail!" Explanation: she was wearing these hideous alligator-green press-on nails, and one of them had come off in her pocket, and she'd been looking for it. But hey, that's something you don't hear every day.
Story 2: A Mexican guy came up to the counter to complain that all the whiskey was gone, and he asked me to go to the cooler and get him 3 (count em, 3) 40 oz. bottles of whiskey. It reminded me of Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat. That guy's gonna be wasted tonight.
Story 3: A funny, young black police officer came in and was looking at the cigarettes, then he said, "Damn! I can't afford these things." I started laughing. Then he said, "It's cheaper to smoke weed!" I was like, "Really?" He said, "Yeah. Hell, you have to be a pot seller to even be able to afford cigarettes." He was cracking me up, so I was sad when he left.
And that, friends, was my day.

Ugh, long day at work. My check only included my three days of training, so my manager is having to loan me the money to pay my rent tomorrow. Our gas pumps decided to quit working at 10 pm, which meant fun angry customers. Thank goodness I got off only an hour later. Tomorrow I work 12-9. I really like that shift, even though it's an hour longer. Happy events of the day: Shannon brought me a strawberry limeaid, and I talked to blueby for a few minutes, before I had to leave and ring up whiskey for drunk Texans.

Ugh, looooong day at work. I ended up having to stay 10 hours, so I got there at noon and left at 10:10. The Texas lottery was tonight, and it was up to 50 million, so everything was nuts today. A TV crew even came in and filmed the store. I got my schedule for the week, and my days off are Sunday and Wednesday. And may I just say that Professor Green made my entire week? *sniff*

Yikers, can't believe I'm off to work again already. Yesterday some guy made me show him my ID, because he didn't think I was old enough to sell beer. If I weren't a 4'10" pacifist, I would have jumped onto the counter and kicked him in the head. Today I should find out my schedule for the next week. Another thing I learned today is that Viggo is no longer planning to film that Disney Western Hidalgo. I'm disappointed, because I want to see him in something else soon, but then again, it was a Disney Western. *random note* Orlando Bloom looks rar in a yellow button-down shirt. *end random note* Go see Alyssa's new 404 page, because it is greatness and speaks the truth.

Ahhh, my day off was wonderful. :-) My car has at last decided to behave itself again! I also called blueby for no particular reason and ended up talking to her for about 45 minutes. We discussed important things like the gay voice of Burger King's Frodo toy. My latest obsession is Avril Lavigne's song "I'm With You," which I've had on repeat for a disturbingly long time. Everyone's starting to write a lot on the story again, which makes me happyyyy! I'm more than honored to host Moll's new fanlist for Alyssa -- Acclaimed. And I am completely unworthy of this . . . *hugs Shannon* The only bad thing about today? Green. He really doesn't care. ;__; *obm*
