Faramir, son of Denethor II and brother of Fellowship member Boromir, was the last steward of Gondor.

Faramir met the Ringbearer and his servant in his beloved land of Ithilien, and there he resisted the corrupting power of the Ring. In the movie, Faramir will be tempted by the Ring, but this does not take place in the book. In fact, Faramir refuses to even look at the ring or talk about it.

In 3019 of the Third Age, when Aragorn reclaimed the kingship, he appointed Faramir the Prince of Ithilien. Faramir went there with his wife, the beautiful and courageous warrior, Lady Eowyn of Rohan. As of November 2003, we've learned that Faramir/Eowyn will not be in the theatrical cut of RotK. Is it just me, or is Faramir getting cheated in these films? :/
