Hi! My real name is Edea, though my family and friends have been calling me DeeDee since the day I was born (9/19/79). In May 2001, I graduated from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS with a double major in religion and English and a minor in biblical languages. I went through two years of grad school in the religion department at Baylor University in Waco, TX.
And then I changed my mind, gradually realizing that I don't want to be a professor. I want to be a librarian. Better late than never, right? So I left Baylor, moved home to Mississippi, and enjoyed a couple of years off from school. I will complete my MLS through online courses at Texas Woman's University and the University of Southern Mississippi.
I currently work in the Special Collections department in the library at Mississippi State.
I was born in a tiny Louisiana fishing village called Golden Meadow, where I attended the Lower Elementary. My family moved to Mississippi when I was eight. I went from 3rd to 10th grade in the Quitman School District. In 11th and 12th grade, I attended the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, though I like neither math nor science. Go figure. I was also a delegate to the 1995 session of the Mississippi Governor's School.
My parents work at Quitman High School; my dad teaches world history and art, and my mom teaches English. My brother Bobby (24) is a genius on the guitar and works as an electrical engineer for Peavey, designing amps other musical equipment. I also have two sisters, Emma (19) and Martha (17).
My personality type is INFJ, based on the Myers-Briggs test. The MB is also known as the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, which you can take online. By the also eerily accurate Enneagram test, I'm a Type 4w5.
I'm a Christian, and more specifically a Mennonite, though not part of the conservative branch. I wear shorts, have no domestic skills whatsoever, and certainly enjoy an occasional Smirnoff Ice. =) Here is the Mennonite Confession of Faith, and here is a page with lots of links.
According to the death clock, I have until Sunday, December 1, 2058. =)
