Born in London, Andy Serkis has had a successful career in film, television, and on stage. But with The Lord of the Rings, he really came into the spotlight. Andy was given the role of Gollum, who would become the most actor-driven CGI character ever created. And Andy would log more hours than any other LotR actor. His hard work paid off - Gollum was immediately recognized not only as an outstanding technical achievement, but as a great actor. Though he himself never appeared onscreen as Gollum, Andy compared his experience with any other actor who wears make-up or prosthetics for a role, saying that he disappears behind pixels rather than prosthetics. After his work on The Lord of the Rings, Andy went on to play the title role in Peter Jackson's next film project, King Kong. For more information, visit Andy's official site or his IMDB page.
